| Enjoyment of sun and sea together with
exotic sightseeing is probably the principle activity of our guests. Whether
relaxing on one of the many white sand beaches in the Bay, Swimming in
a secluded cove or snorkeling amongst the coral reefs, there is plenty
to enjoy. For the more adventurous sailing or diving trips
can be arranged. There are many sea-caves in the limestone
karsts of Phang Nga Bay and exploring these by canoe or meandering through
the mangroves is a favourite activity. (Clicking the relevant
images will take you to further information on the various activities) |
| For the angler, the shallow island reefs
around Koh Naka and other islands around Phuket are home to species such
as mangrove jackfish, sea bass, and barracuda. Plenty of light-tackle
game-fishing is to be had in close proximity to Koh Naka Retreat using
our 17 ft sports-fisher boat which is included with the villa rental.
For the more adventurous, trips can be arranged to deeper waters where
tiger-sharks, marlin, dorado, tuna, sailfish, and king-mackerel can
be found. The availability of some of these migratory species
is seasonal but excellent fishing can be experienced throughout the year. |

| For the sailing enthusiast, right on your
doorstep, the magnificent waters of Phang Nga Bay with its timeless natural
limestone island karsts, some towering high above, others fringed by golden
sand or coral reefs provide excellent cruising territory. Other
destinations such as Krabi and Koh Phi Phi are within easy reach.
Farther afield, trips to the Similian or Surin Islands, bordering the Burmese
coast can be undertaken. |

At the top of Phang Nga Bay an extensive
mangrove swamp exists. This inter-tidal area is a favourite
location for exploration by canoe, longtail boat or other shallow- draft
vessels. |

| The island of Phuket is home to four excellent
golf courses, with a fifth, the Mission Hills Course, due to open in November
2003. All courses at within three quarters of an hour's drive
from the jetty at Ao Po. When Mission Hills is completed it
will be a mere ten minutes away. Only slightly more distant
is the renowned Blue Canyon Country Club which has hosted previous Johnnie
Walker Classic Golf Tournaments and the Honda Invitation Tournament.
The Laguna Phuket Club and the Loch Palm Golf Club are additional options.
All the courses are of a high standard and are set in stunningly beautiful
natural scenery. More specific information will be provided
upon request. |
